There’s always that one “impossible shot” to get in every city – and this was no exception.
Between the huge crowds of tourists, city workers desperate to get home, kids playing, wind, rain and the odd extra photographer or two, this shot took a lot longer than the final 60 second exposure to capture!
I wanted to catch the absolute center of the bridge, with the lights creating a runway effect leading to St. Paul’s Cathedral in the distance. Luckily, after 3 visits back-and-forth to the pub nearby in between failed attempts, the final shot came good. A window just long enough for me to get a steady minute of shutter-time with no motion blur from either people or the bridge’s own movement. As we were reminded in the bar, good things come to those who wait…
