There’s something intrinsically awesome about looking across a span of nature that’s over 100 million years old.

With layer upon layer of rock formations rolling off into the distance to the youthful granite top of Half Dome (at only 87 million years old), Yosemite Valley is not only one of the oldest National Parks in the United States, it’s also one of the most impressive.

With its mix of monolithic mountains and rocks, waterfalls, forests and rivers – Yosemite really is a nature-lovers paradise, and one that never disappoints.

While many hunt for rainbows and blue skies, for me the mystery of the early morning fog as it flows across the valley floor was the view I wanted to capture. At times too thick, at times too sparse, I waited to catch that one brief moment where the winter air caused the cloud deck to dance in an almost wave-like fashion between the trees and falls below.
