the city by the bay

8 second exposure
100 limited edition prints
5 artist’s proofs
One of three images taken from the base of Treasure Island, the landform which links San Francisco to Oakland in California via the Bay Bridge.
The western span of the bridge has a unique way of framing the city skyline, and this final shot from the night gave me just what I wanted: Colour in the sky from the disappearing sun with the lights of the city already alive.
A night scene is all well and good, but I just love this time of day – besides, climbing back up the hill with all my kit and no light would have been even worse than what I went through having left just after this!
Location: San Francisco, California, USA
