Wow, it was cold this morning!
Taking advantage of the mobile studio we’d managed to set up (well, a campervan!), we headed out to the lakefront in Glenorchy, facing the infamous water bound willow trees. Having shot here before, I knew what to expect, but last time it had been foggy – today was almost clear skies and quite a wind blowing through the valley of Lake Wakatipu.
Still, sunrise can be an unpredictable time – and today was no exception. Not only were we treated to a softening of the wind, but the clouds also came out to play over the tops of the snow-capped mountains. Reflecting the pinks in the sunrise behind us, we couldn’t have hoped for a better scene to frame these most resilient of trees on the planet!
