The calming waters of the lake surrounding Masjid Putra – or the Putrajaya Mosque – reflect the amazing sunrise colours in the morning sky above.
Having visited Putrajaya on several previous occasions, my hopes weren’t high for this morning’s shot when we first arrived. The weather had been stormy, and my previous attempts to capture this stunning location had been marred by pollution and haze in the air. Today, however, was to be a different story.
Perfectly timed, as the sun rose behind the mosque, the layer of morning mist burned quickly away to leave a blanket of cotton-wool clouds sat perfectly above us. Reflecting back with the deep reds, yellows and purples of the sunrise, the still waters of the lake helped create this serene frame for my camera, just a few kilometres from the urban energy that sits in Kuala Lumpur itself.
