The most photographed slot canyon in the world, Antelope Canyon provides both a photographer’s dream and nightmare in one package.
Light-steams from above, amazing colours, sand features and rock formations which are nothing short of awe-inspiring. To capture something truly different in Antelope however, is a real challenge, as are the practicalities of doing so when there are so many other photographers and tourists around each pushing and shoving to get a better view.
When long exposures are needed, it can be a real problem. Luckily, I managed to get a small window of calm to capture this particular formation that many people miss. You have to look up at a specific point in the canyon to find what is an amazing abstract view of a nearby natural rock formation; Monument Valley. I just love the textures and colours in this shot along with the glow from behind the ‘mountain’ in the distance. Truly one of my favourites from Antelope.
