WOW. That was the only word that escaped my mouth the first time I saw this view, and is the same word that left me what I saw it again this year.
Stood high above the city of Sydney, on a hotel rooftop, I clicked away hoping for the perfect balance of clear sky, moving stars, static lights and boats coming and going around Circular Quay below.
From remote impressions, Sydney is a huge city – with a grand Harbour Bridge and vast Opera House. In reality, it’s a really cool town, with a real community feel to it, and it was my privilege to capture some of the most famous landmarks from this amazing place in one frame from above. Some photographers aim for a “clear run” – personally, I don’t think Sydney would feel the same without the activity of the ferries and tour boats that come in and out of Circular Quay. To that end, not only was I lucky to be up there on a clear night – I was exceptionally fortunate to get a 2 minute capture just as two boats manoeuvred around the harbour.
What a city – I just love this place.
